With increased education and awareness of physicians, individuals with Fabry disease, families and friends, and the general public, individuals will have a better chance of being recognized and diagnosed much earlier in the disease process. Early recognition, management and treatment can significantly slow or even halt many of the manifestations of this progressive and destructive disease. With the education efforts of the NFDF and others in the Fabry disease community, thousands of individuals with Fabry disease will have an opportunity to live significantly better and longer lives.
